Calhoun County Superintendent of Schools Ralph Yoder, announced that Janice Lilly was recently recognized as the recipient of the “Make Their Day Better” award. This monthly award was instituted by Superintendent Yoder to recognize individuals that make a difference in the day of fellow staff members, students and/or parents.
Mrs. Lilly has been working for the Calhoun County School Board for sixteen years. Currently, she is employed as a teacher at Blountstown Elementary School. Mrs. Lilly was nominated by one of her colleagues who shared the following: Janice is a wearer of many hats but is always behind the scenes. She is in a position where she could hide and hang out when her job is done, but Janice has a "go getter" attitude and is always looking for areas where her assistance could be helpful.
There is particular example that stands out to me. Due to a schedule change Janice was not needed for writing (in my class) on this particular day. Janice took this opportunity to join another class that she knew was struggling and joined in to help.
She is willing to do whatever is needed and always has a smile on her face. Janice is such an asset to BES. She is a blessing to students, as well as teachers.
Pam Bozeman, Principal of Blountstown Elementary School stated, “Mrs. Lilly is a team player. Her quiet demeanor instills a sense of caring and compassion for her colleagues and students. I am thankful for her willingness to selflessly serve our students, their parents and our campus.”
Congratulations to Mrs. Lilly as she works daily to make other’s days better.
